General Information I joined iSecLab in May 2007. My research interests cover most of what can be summarized under the term computer security. To name but a few topics, I am interested in and conducting research about botnets, network security, intrusion detection, Web security, and spam mitigation. I have a degree in Technical Mathematics from Vienna Technical University. The work on my diploma thesis resulted in my first two scientific publications. After graduation I left university for three years to gather some job experience. During that time I worked as a software engineer at AIM Software, a medium sized Viennese company that produces a database frontend software for financial institutions.Abroad I spent six months as a visiting scientist in the Networking and Security group at Eurecom, France, from October 2008 to March 2009. During my master studies in 2002 I spent one semester at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology in Trondheim, Norway, as an Erasmus exchange student.Publications
